Cervical screening (smear tests) is recommended for women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64. Under the current NHS programme, most people are invited for screening every 5 years, provided their previous result was HPV negative.
Some individuals may be invited more frequently if follow-up is needed, depending on their results.
You should receive a reminder letter from the NHS Cervical Screening Programme when your screening is due. However, if you believe your smear test is overdue, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Appointments can be made at reception with one of our practice nurses.
